Requirements
- 1Currently registered as a Plumber's Apprentice or licensed in Texas/another state
- 2At least 8,000 hours of experience in the plumbing trade
- 3Complete a 48-hour training course approved by TSBPE (or enrolled in DOL-approved apprenticeship program)
- 4Submit completed exam application with Employer Certification Form(s) and $40 fee
- 5Pass the Journeyman Plumber Examination
- 6Pay $40 initial license fee after passing exam
- 7Submit fingerprints for criminal history background check (one-time requirement)
How to Apply
Plumbers in Texas must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE).
